REFERENCE STALLION
SEDGEHILL GOLD
'Jed' is senior stallion at Anna Burns' Cotesbach stud, now enjoying his retirement. As Rival's sire, Jed is very influential in our herd and he is also 'the grand old man' of Quarter Horse breeding in the UK, dating from the early days of the breed in this country. He has proven himself in every way and has an unbeatable reputation for producing willing, sound-minded offspring, who have earned between them over 200 AQHA and WES points.

Jed's ancestors are mostly quality, old-fashioned Quarter Horses, which accounts for that wonderful disposition. They were good enough to perform at top level in just about every discipline, English or Western.
PESKY TOP HAT | Sire of some very sound and straight horses with a really nice type about them, including 1985 UK Supreme Halter Champion Tumbleweed Tophand. |
HOLLYWOOD HALLMARK | Bred by HRH the Duke of Edinburgh. Her Hollywood Gold sire line is common to many top ranking reining horses. |
PESKY TONKA | He earned 115 points in 8 different disciplines and earned his AQHA Championship and Performance ROM. Truly multi-talented, he was a Hi-point Jumping and Working Hunter stallion and also won points at Reining and Working Cowhorse, Halter and as a Pleasure horse. |
PEACHES BABE | AQHA halter point earner herself and dam of Western Riding World Champion and AQHA Champion Billy Bar Que 2, Superior in Halter, Western Pleasure, English Pleasure and Western Riding and a regular AQHA Driving Class winner. |
HOLLYWOOD COTTON | As a youngster he shot to fame as one of the top ten cutting horses in Canada with an Open Performance ROM and NCHA earnings, he was then imported to the UK where he became a pre-eminent sire of top quality Quarter Horses and polo ponies. |
MAX CHARGE | Max Charge was presented to HRH the Duke of Edinburgh by the Canadian Government in 1964. Her sire was Super Charge, AAAT Superior race horse who was 1953 World Champion 2 year old. Her female line runs direct to Salty whose influence on the Quarter Horse world comes through successful sons Midnight JR and Revenue. |
Here is Golden Parr Man, another son of Sedgehill Gold, pictured as a 3-year-old. We used him at stud for a couple of years with good results before we bought Rival and it was our experience with him that led us to look for something from Sedgehill Gold as our herd sire.
